Mack McKeller, former District Court Judge for District 29B Seat 2 from November of 2018 until December of 2020. He is a long time resident of Brevard for more than 25 years and was born and raised in these mountains. He practiced law in a solo general practice concentrating in domestic and criminal court from 1995 until his appointment to the bench.
Mack has been married to Paula McKeller for 32 years. He has four daughters who all graduated from Brevard High School and are now pursuing fulfilling careers.
Mack has a B.A. Cum Laude in History from Wake Forest University and a J.D. Cum Laude from Campbell Law School where he served as the Research Editor on the Campbell Law Review and wrote a published note “The Long and Winding Road: Redistricting in Light of Shaw v. Reno” 16 Campbell Law Rev 457. After college, Mack served on active duty with the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer primarily in the Pacific Ocean and continued to serve in the reserves through law school.
Mack served as a member of Brevard City Council for 6 years. He has coached soccer at various levels including youth league, high school, and the Transylvania County Special Olympics. He taught as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Brevard College in 2019 and 2020. His Christian faith is very important to Mack and he is currently a partner at Destiny Christian Fellowship in Brevard.
